Visual Journal/Journey Workshop
Creating a Visual Journal/Journey is a place to honor your ‘sensory’ connection as you develop content and narrative through discussion, exercises, and making ‘time’ to explore your visual path. Projects include sounds, touch, color, music, memory and myth. Beginners to advanced students, welcome!

Drawing for those who think they can’t Through exercises and an exploration of materials and the world around us, drawing happens. Learn about line, shading, composition and color in a small group setting.

Drawing/Painting Workshop for those with some drawing background.
The first part of each session is spent with drawing exercises playing with line, shading, gesture, and composition. We continue the second part of each session with acrylic paint or gouache (no experience necessary with painting).

Open Studio from 11 to 4
These sessions are for those who want to spend time in my studio with others,
working on your own within a creative environment.
Nancy is available for discussion or critique during that time.

About me…
I am a studio artist and educator, exhibiting my oil paintings at galleries and art festivals during the year. Since the summer of 2000 I teach a workshop called ‘The Visual Journal’ that I developed for Eastern Michigan University. It takes place for one week each August at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Michigan.  I also teach the workshop for Wayne State University’s Art Therapy Dept. and Center for Creative Studies Continuing Education Dept. in Detroit, MI.  Recently, I have been working with community organizations to help people develop an expressive relationship with art that already exists within.
I am an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Michigan University having received an M.F.A. in Painting in 1994.
